Unbreakable Cycle -a poem-
The comfort of a dream torn away by the bitter sunlight.
Sweet serenity pushed away by dread ever consuming.
Desperation of thought, heart beats fast
This evil feeling pulling me, piece by piece, apart
cold remorse, memory that was once a sweet moment, now looked on with regret
Hiding these faces behind stolid eyes, all you see in them
your own reflection. The reflection, a lie
only what you want to be seen.
What scars are you hiding behind that mask?
The daily routine, replica of yesterdays, reflecting tomorrows
patterns are comfortable, safe.
Wake, rise, continue polishing the mask
then at night, when no one can hear, let the sobs escape.
Lay down your head, and escape into the dreams
the sweet serenity once again
the only haven from utter collapse of spirit
tomorrow morn, look into the reflection of yesterday
put on the mask do let them see the secrets of the night.
